Home News & Events Happy Hooves
Many of our young people have been involved with Happy Hooves in Sanquhar over the last few years, whether they’ve been taking riding lessons or volunteering with some of the less-glamorous jobs like mucking-out. Recently one of our young people has been undertaking a work placement as part of their SCQF Level 4 Horse Care studies.
Founded by Laura Wilson, a passionate horse enthusiast, and her dedicated team, Happy Hooves was born from a lifelong dream to establish a riding school which caters to individuals of all ages and abilities. Happy Hooves is more than a riding school; it is a community which offers a Riding For The Disabled service and collaborates with social work services and local schools to offer Equine Facilitated Learning, which has shown remarkable results in improving physical and mental health, self-confidence and socialisation. It provides a safe environment for everyone to experience the joy of horse riding.
