Additional Support in Education – a FREE guide for Parents by Iain Nisbet

Thursday 10th September, 6-8.30pm, The Merse, Lochancroft Lane, Wigtown, DG8 9JA

Understanding the rights of Children and Young People in Education can be challenging. Holistic Childcare & Education would like to welcome you to a FREE presentation and talk by Iain Nisbet, one of Scotland’s top Lawyers in Education Law on understanding additional support entitlements for children and young people in Scotland.

After a brief introduction to Holistic Childcare & Education, Iain will lead a presentation on Additional Support entitlements in Scotland and how to access them. Topics include:

  • The 2004 Additional Support for Learning Act
  • Individual Education Plans
  • Co-ordinated Support Plans
  • Placing Requests and more

Following the presentation there will be the opportunity for a Q&A session with Iain and the leaders from the Holistic Childcare & Education. The event is open to parents and representatives from advocacy and support groups. If your child is experiencing difficulty in receiving a full-time education that understands and supports their particular needs and strengths, this event will be of benefit to you.
